Missing the sun

I am totally fine with autumn, but miss the sun. I mean it's alright to have some rainy, gray days every now and then but hey, it's only September and days are so short already. Some days we haven't had any visible sun, and that's just too much (or too little, depending).

I need sun. I need it not only for my own well-being (and sanity) but also to take decent pictures of my creations. I've given up trying inside, and run outside when ever I see even a ray of sun. It's a bit inconvenient, but I just do not want to use the flash if it's not absolutely necessary (and it will be when it's -30C outside or the snowstorm strikes).

I dream of a corner of my house (my crafting space) being only for taking pictures. With white walls and some good, natural light bulbs it should work? I have even seen DIY lightboxes with white paper inside and again effective lights doing the trick, and I also want a good stand for my camera. So many things I want, so little... You know.

These little birdie-pouches I photographed yesterday, we actually had a few (almost) sunny moments during otherwise very gray day. I am happy with the results, and oh how effective one can be when black clouds hang above ones head. Talk about the relaxed working atmosphere!

Happy Monday!

I like cloudy weathers. Nice work and photographs.

Thank you, Glenys!

It's gray and rainy-looking here this morning again...So it's time to clean and sort out my stuff *sigh*

Happy week :)

Mia

We were lucky enough to have a fab sunday, hot sunshine all day, we even got the sunloungers out again. Today though is grey here too Mia..sending you some sunshine from yesterday and a purr from Billy.
I love your latest tweed tweets. I also have issues with photos and for the ones I use for my Etsy jewellery I use the "auction" mode which gives me 3 different shots with different light intensities. It works well but I must admit I have considered making a light box, they are super.
Happy Monday, I'm dashing off to work now,
Love Jane x

Hi Jane,

And thank you for the sun and kiss to Billy!!

I am also using my Picasa-web album's program (free from net) to increase light on some of my photos as they appear too dark. But if the picture is bad from the beginning, nothing helps ;)

I am definitely trying to make a light box (something small-ish, table-size) when we're finished this mad renovation!

Happy week!

Yours,
Mia

Oh please don't talk to me about grey days, I hate them! :(
Up until yesterday we had four really lovely days but today is grey although surprisingly warm.
How much of our lives do we spend talking about the weather!!!! I must admit I don't like the sound of -30 deg!
Anyway about the crafts ( we are craft blogs aren't we??) the new pouches are gorgeous as always Mia!
Like you I going to do some tidying today, better get going, have a lovely day Mia. :)

Hello Viv,

I think talking about the weather is something quite English and also very Finnish, we do not talk about that much else ;) I also think that once the autumn has set in, and we all are warm and cozy inside, grayness doesn't bother us that much...I wish :)

I am tidying-tidying-tidying and there's no end...

Happy Monday!

Yours,
Mia

I too dream of a little area for taking photos! But I fear the real problem for me is not where I take them, but how. I'm so used to taking shots of kids, that I'm a bit too snappy. I need to slow down and plan.

I also should take my time with pictures but it always seem that I am in a rush with them. But the light box is definitely on my list!

Happy Monday, poppet!

Yours,
Mia

Hi Mia,

I have the same dream as you, I bought a roll of photography paper ages ago but haven't set it up yet and would like a couple of lights with 'natural light' bulbs clipped to my shelf, also for working as well as photo taking. Like you, I just run outside at the moment for product photos.

It's grey, grey, grey here as well :)

Hi Beth,

I am sorry about the greyness all around! Autumn really doesn't bother me that much, I am happy cozying (a word? must be today) home next to fireplace but the picture taking is a nightmare. My felted items cannot take flash at all, they look hairy and horrible and the colors...Huh. I must get those natural light bulbs asap!

Have a great week :)

Yours,
Mia

This time of the year...

Usually around this time, when children go back to school, and you can just about to smell the autumn, I start to dig deeper in my fabric...
