Counting the days

Oh my, in two weeks time my blogger profile's thirtysomething will be needed to be changed to... Something which I haven't quite yet decided. I have no age-crisis per se, but I can't help wondering how we got here, where did the time go and on darker moments "is this it?" (so I might have a crisis of somesort after all). It's also funny how lately many of my sentences have been "Do you remember --- it was 20 years ago, blimey!" This is all I am going to write about this issue here (or anywhere); I might show some b-day pictures later (not the candles on the cake, though), but otherwise this sudden *ahem* midlife that lurks around the corner is now dealt with. You may offer your congratulations or condolences in the comment-box, and I love to read them, but otherwise only time will heal this... Maybe in ten years time I will be laughing how I freaked over this?

But but but this is a milestone still, and I would love to celebrate it with you all, and I am going to put on a little sale in my shop, the code BIRTHDAY will give you a -20% off your purchase (shipping excluded). The sale is on from today 21.2.2013 until 7.3.2013.

Happy Thursday!

Yours,
Mia

Well you know what Mia, I wish my next birthday was my 40th, like Jane I too have passed the next milestone! If its any consolation I loved my forties, they were the best decade of my life and I would have been very happy to have stayed in them !!!!! (If only)!
So you enjoy your day and worry not! :)
Happy Thursday my dear,

Dear Mia,
I am also in 40s and it's getting close to the end of it. I often forget how old I am. Sometimes I think I was older than my age and my family correct me. Haha. You know, it really doesn't matter. Anyway, what I think I wanted to say was that things are going to be just the same before and after the birthday:)
Time really flies by like you said. I am not sure where my years went. But looking at all the pretty things you made in the past (I can see them in Flickr, your shop and your blog) are there to tell me your wonderful years!
I don't think I am making sense, but I just wanted to say you are wonderful:)
Have a wonderful day.

Thank you, Anne!

I know it's a bit silly to moan about this, but I am keeping it in this one post only :) and I also am taking in all the wise words from you who "have been there and done that" - thank you!

I wish you the most wonderful weekend!

Yours,
Mia

Thank you sweet Megumi,

You made perfect sense! I also have always been younger than my years (well today my face is not but :) you know what I mean), and that was a big surprise this year came along this fast... But I thank you, as the other lovely ladies, who have told me that life is will wonderful after this step :) And you're wonderful too!

Have a sunny and beautiful weekend!

Yours,
Mia

You are still very young, Mia! 40 is a wonderful decade and being 50- something is great too!! But as you say, it's more about 'where did the time go'? It just seems to fly by faster and faster!
Wishing you a lovely birthday and a wonderful year ahead.

Thank you so much, Helen!

Calling me young :) just made my Friday (my weekend, maybe a week, more?), thank you! I will have the best b-day ever and then forget my age - and enjoy spring! Lovely weekend to you!

Mia

Oh Mia, my dentist asked me how old I was the other day (something to do with my new crown he's doing) and I said, 'I'm 40...no 41...or I could be 42....oh I'm not sure!'. Turns out I am 40 (I think) but as I'm not one for big birthday celebrations (which is lucky as M forgot the year before last) it all blurs together :) I hope you have a fab one though. Hello Beth,

Thank you for your comment, it made me smile! It really doesn't matter how old we are as long as we feel 25 :)

Have a lovely day!

Mia

Hi Mia, I don't know how I missed this post ... you certainly will think different after 10 years. I'm 'in the same boat' with Jane and greenrabbit and hope my next bithday was 40th! Unfortunately time will not heal because the next stop is really serious one. So, dear friend enjoy your best Birthday and the years following! Just last week one evening I asked hb, if I'm really ... I don't believe and can't write the numbers! Hugs! Teje

Hello Teje,

Thank you so much for your message! Now, just a few days from the ACTUAL date, I am pretty cool about all this thanks to you all who have sent me some cheering comments. Life goes on and sun shines, that's the spirit!

Happy March!

Yours,
Mia

This time of the year...

Usually around this time, when children go back to school, and you can just about to smell the autumn, I start to dig deeper in my fabric...
