Month of the Lily

Many of you may have something else on your calendars for June, but for me it's month of the Lily. At the very back of our yard there is a little spot where Lilies of the Valley grow. Every winter I keep worrying for them surviving under the masses of snow, but the miracle happens every spring; all of the sudden they are there.

Lily of the Valley (Kielo, as we call it here) is my absolute favorite flower. The smell is divine, and it takes me right back to my childhood. It was my first perfume, and even I was five or so, I can still remember the bottle and the scent.

The scent is quite not here yet, but it's still May, so there's plenty of time. And if you just cannot wait...

...I have made some pretty Lilies too!

And if you have time, please take a look all the beautiful Lilies I did find Etsy. I want them all. All.

Wonderful last days of May!

Yours,
Mia

Your bag made me gasp! It is so pretty. The grey backdrops the green and white beautifully!

Thank you so much, Kerry! Gray is one of my personal favorites, and paired with green it's just...pretty! Happy you liked my bag!

Have a great, Lily-scented week coming!

Mia

Beautiful Mia! I found your treasury last night, I love it, all that gorgeous green. :)
It's a flower that I don't have in my garden maybe it's time I did something about that! I remember them in the garden at home when I was a child.
Your bag and brooch are beautiful. :)
Have a lovely week,

Hi Lily,

I agree! For me gray is not a "dull" color, I use it a lot and love it dearly. It's so easy "base" for any added color, too. And oh, you have granma memories too, my first Lily of the Valley perfume was given by her!

Happiest day!

Yours,
Mia

Hi Mia, I am back on line, we had to have our whole telephone line reinstalled today as we lost connenection. The engineer who came out today said our old wiring was obselete! I have felt so odd not having any internet connection since Saturday. Great to see that spring has really arrived in Finland; lily of the valley is such a delicate flower and looks so beautiful on your bag!I do love your matching brooches you have been making too.
Off to dancing now,

This time of the year...

Usually around this time, when children go back to school, and you can just about to smell the autumn, I start to dig deeper in my fabric...
