It's 6th of December, and we celebrate our Independence day here in Finland! Last year I made the festive birds, and wanted to try something little different this year. And what would be more Finnish than Moomins? I have a soft spot for these little guys...
It was my duty to make a dessert for our family dinner, and I baked some wonderful buns (normal bun dough and gingerbread dough rolled together, yummy!), and then I used my new Hattifatteners gingerbread cutter to make some festive treats!
And as our flag is blue-white, I wanted to decorate the cookies appropriately. And oh, even I am good at making things with my hands, a cake-decorator-queen I am not. But fun they were and tasty too - here's the proof:

Hi Mia! Happy Indipendence Day to you! I was waiting your post today - and it's beautiful! I love your buiscuits and all those lovely, Finnish blue white things! I shall have you in my mind when I have coffee from my red Unikko cup.

Thank you so much, Teje!
We had great time, linnanjuhlat were festive and beautiful, and everything was just...so traditional Itsenäisyyspäivä-meininki :)
Wishing you happy days!
Yours,
Mia
Thanks, dear Jane!
The Hatti's were a hit even they were suspiciously blue (sort of Smurff-blue shade even) and we had great time! Now the last busy-busy days and on Friday to Helsinki with sis! Yippee!
Have a wonderful week!
Yours,
Mia
Thank you so much, Vivienne!
We had a lovely day, and both the buns and cookies were enjoyed greatly! The smallest of us ate the most of those blue biscuits I would say :)
Enjoy your week!

Mia
