Step by step

I apologize to all of you, who now have an earworm from 1990 and New Kids on the Block from that title, but "phase one" or "baby steps" were tried and rejected. So step by step it is, and Christmas crafts I'm talking about.
I started holiday season with the bag above, and after that everything went crazy-busy (with anything but C) for a week or two, and since then I have been searching my Christmas-mojo. Anyone else struggling with seasonal products? I LOVE Christmas, it's not that, it's just the idea of getting something pretty ready in such a short time...
My secret holiday-plan included some new Christmas Stockings (here are the last year's models), some pretty tree ornaments/gift decorations (see the little birdies in these pictures on this post), and also some felted bags and pouches. And oh yes, despite the not-so-optimistic-tone here, I have managed to get quite a bit done, and plan to have them in my shop by end of this month.
The days are getting really short here, we have minus-degrees on nights (and some days) and in Lapland it's been snowing already. If this sort of weather doesn't get me in into a real Christmas-mood I do not know what does... And it's truly needed as there will be a lot more of birdie-sewing, some stocking-cutting and reasonable amount of knitting and felting - a true elfing* around the clock next a few weeks. How is everyone else doing?
Lovely Thursday!

Yours,
Mia

Your birdies are lovely too, you seem to have got quite a bit done actually.
You know me, I always struggle with Christmas, dark days and cold weather (which we have been promised this weekend)! :(
Happy Thursday and elfing,

Thank you, Vivienne!

I am struggling with this gray/wet/cold autumn after a bad summer...And I am not waiting the winter either! Christmas I love but until then... huh.

I wish it'll be sunny in here and yours this weekend!

That DETAILED bag is incredible!!!! It is so beautiful, it must have taken a really long time to make. Your imagination just when crazy with so many creatures!!! Just fabulous!!
Love your birdies too. They will make get gifts for teachers etc.
Snow already : ( I don't think I could handle that yet.
Love what you have been up to, I think you are going strong on your "C" things!

Hi Mia! I love your little birds and your words! Elfing is so much fun but in Finnish 'tonttuilu' sounds more funny! This year I really feel that I don't have energy for Christmas mood. I would like to pass all Christmas huzzle but I guess when it's closer I start again with a little lights ... and this and that.
Have a wonderful weekend! x Teje
PS. Just washed Nero's feet and nails. He was chaising a cat outside and all that red ground is now mud after three days rain ... did I miss the rain?!

Hi Mia, That bag would be perfect for Mrs. Claus!! It gets me into the Christmas spirit. Love your flock of birdies too.

There was some snow (in the middle of the US) But I'm not ready for that, yet!!

Looking forward to more of your C- goodies.

Happy THursday,
Anne

Kiitos Nova!

Täälläkään ei ylimääräistä energiaa juuri ole, ja yleensä nämä joulu-juttuset on menty sillä "hitsi-joko-se-on-viikon-päästä" eli kiire paras mauste on... :)

Iloista lokakuun jatkoa sinulle, ja loistavia luomishetkiä! Ihania pussukoita olit jo messuille tehnyt, kyllä ne loputkin ihanuudet sieltä pukkuhiljaa valmistuu!

Terkuin Mia

Thank you, Robin!

It's cold, gray and wet here, and every night we have - degrees...And snowing is just around the corner. But usually (fingers crossed!) it will not stay until December, it comes and goes.

Lovely Thursday!

Mia

Heips Teje,

I know, it's a bit same here, after everything else C-crafts surely took their time to get started. I wish you'll enjoy your crafting a lot, and if C feels too much still, just wait a little and enjoy the other things instead!

Happy weekend soon!

Terveisin pikku-tonttu

Thank you, dear friend!

I am little shocked how bad (weather-wise!) this year has been since May...But I am wishing that snow and all that will come and go but stay around Christmas only! And oh yes, C is coming, and I haven't decided yet will I try to blog daily or... It's sort of tradition ;) already but... We'll see!

Have a lovely day, and kisses to B!

Hi Mia,

I also LOVE the bag, how fabulous, you are clever! I think the little birdies are very cute also and I look forward to the 'stockings', will you be making gloves again this year?

Mia said...

Hello dear Beth!

I will make some mittens this year too, but mostly I am making them into a Finnish shop to sell. I have a few pairs ready, and I think some new pairs will appear in my etsy at some point too. Oh.. so many things and so little time ;)

Enjoy your weekend!

Mia

This time of the year...

Usually around this time, when children go back to school, and you can just about to smell the autumn, I start to dig deeper in my fabric...
