New Year, new...

Happy New Year, dear friends!

I usually have taken a look back to my year around this time, but I think I will leave that for little later. 2015 was a mixed year, in so many levels, that I think I will concentrate on the future. I am so sentimental at times with "what if" and "if only" "maybe I should have" so this time I will say "I so will" instead!

An another thing I am going to do, is to start keeping a "made me happy today" diary. I saw the idea somewhere years ago (thank you so much who ever you were for this!) to write down each day one thing that made you happy. Just one thing. Should not be too difficult, and by the end of the year you should end up with 365 things that made you happy, who could not want to see that? And I firmly believe no matter how bad your day is, there is always one thing to write down. Just one thing!

You could create amazing scrapbook-sort of masterpieces around this idea, but I know myself, and I need something really simple. So I just have my pretty Santa brought (thanks Vivienne for elfing!) pad&most wonderful pen ever (my bil brought this for me from US last autumn, thanks T, if something is me, it's this pen!), and I am going to write the date and my thought down there. Keep it simple always works for me.

Happy New Year 2016, friends, see you often this year!

Yours,
Mia

Happy new year dear Mia and I hope it is an easier one for you. I'm so glad to see you doing this as it is part of being mindful....we practice this in our family and it is very a useful skill. Milly even uses it at work. A positive word a day is such a good thing to document...I use this with my art journalling too......Here's to a creative and positive 2016 xx

Hello dear Jane,

Thank you for your lovely, encouraging comment. I have not made any new year resolutions, but trying to stay/be more positive is in agenda. There are things we can't change, but we can face them with more positive attitude, definitely. So here's to happier New Year!

All the best for you&yours this year!

Yours,
Mia

Happy New Year Mia, I love this idea! Just one word or sentence I think I can do that too! I love writing things down but it always fizzles out, BUT one word or happy thought is doable!!!
Love to you and a peaceful happy and healthy new year, xoxoxoRobin

Hello dear Robin,

Happy New Year!

And I know, I did not want to take too big task (which I probably would have forgotten with a "I do not have time" lame :) excuse) but something that makes me think positively each day... We'll see how it goes, I will keep you posted!

Lovely January!

Yours,
Mia

Hello dear Vivienne,

Thank you! When I saw that birdie book, it gave "free as a bird" thought and it was my absolute first choise to this. And I love the "school feel" of lines in, match prettier than grids!

Wishing you a happy, bright & animal-filled :) New Year!

Yours,
Mia

Hello dear Teje,

Happy New Year!

I liked that idea too immediately when I read about it, but many years went and I always missed the start on Jan 1 (and I also thought that I would need something really fancy for this like handmade paper... excuses!), so here we go!

Wishing you a wonderful 2016, may it be bright, happy& creative!

Yours,
Mia

Ihana idea! Uuteen kalenterikirjaani mahtuu loistavasti jokaisen päivän ilonaihe! Kaunis tuo Minna Immosen seinäkalenteri. Ja kaikki hänen piirtämät kuvat.

Dear Mia I didn't know that you had a hard year in 2015 and I am sorry to hear that. I hope things will be much better for you in 2016. I love your new plan and am sure this positive thinking will help a lot. Your new birdie book is so pretty! and so is your new pen! Wishing you much happiness in 2016 and sending love.

Hello dear Helen,

Oh, some years have more illness&sorrow&saddness than others, and I do wish 2016 will be one of those with more bright days than dark. And to be extra sure I will try to face it more positive!

Wishing you wonderful and bright January days, and a very Happy New Year!

Yours,
Mia

Hello Mia

Thank you for your lovely comment over at TLC, I had just opened my feed for your blog as you left it (the comment) and couldn't believe how many posts I'd missed from you!! You were busy over December. Hoping to catch up on all my ready in the coming weeks, as it's cold, miserable and mostly raining here in the UK. I think the idea of a happy moment is lovely, I agree that there has to be at the very least one each day and it's a nice idea to focus on that and then, hopefully, lessen any negatives. Here's to a healthy, happy and productive 2016!!

Hello Beth,

Thank you! In December I blogged every day from 1-25 (!!!) as a Christmas calendar, so I bet there are a few posts there to you to see, REALLY not my usual pace of blogging! Its not rainy here, but very mild, and very slippery (and only little snow) but white and pretty. I am so so waiting for February and spring days!

Wishing you&boys wonderful 2016 - may it be happy, creative and sunny!

Yours,
Mia

This time of the year...

Usually around this time, when children go back to school, and you can just about to smell the autumn, I start to dig deeper in my fabric...
