December 12th

Tomorrow, December 13th, is the last day here in Finland to post our Christmas cards on a special (read: lower) rate, and millions of cards will be tucked into the mailboxes. Quite literally too, last year we Finns sent out some 40.000.000 cards (you got the zeros right, that's forty million), and that was actually down ten million from a previous year (hello text message-greetings!). This all said I am still processing my cards *ahem* but some around here have been ready for a while already...

All you need is enough pretty stuff...

...a magnifying glass (!) to inspect it all...

..."Yeah, auntie, these diamonds will do"...

...glue, glue and some more clue and voila:

"This is a tree and I will send it to Granma"

...with  LOVE!

Happy December 12th!

Yours,
Mia

Brilliant!!! :)
I love the bling tree (he's just like his auntie, isn't he)!! ;)And so much love tucked inside for Grandma!
The magnifying glass did make me laugh, he's like a diamond dealer. :)

He's the sweetest little boy, and definitely takes after auntie with more-is-more-attitude :)

Granma loved her well-inspected card!

Have a wonderful day!

Mia

Wow - I knew you send lots of cards but still! I count myself as Finnish and I have sent my part (over the average). Your cards look wonderful! We should make more improvised cards as you - there are so many materials we could use! x Teje

Wow Mia..40 million! I so love real cards...we got a "web" card yesterday...it's just not the same as the real thing. How can I put that up on my string on the stairs? Your darling Nephew has got the same bling gene as his darling Auntie ;0) Fab work there, you make a great team,

Hello Teje,

I think we Finns are a bit old-fashioned (in a good way!) with our card-sending still, I like the real greetings better than textmessages too! And did my best yesterday when I tucked the cards into a mailbox that was SO FULL the cards almost fell out when I openend the lid! What a shame I didn't have my camera with me!

Happy Friday!

Yours,
Mia

Hello dear Jane,

Same with me: I love the real mail, and I think the cards are getting more and more popular again, a few years back it was all text-messages at Christmas, but now I keep receiving pretty cards again! Lovely!

Have a great weekend soon!

Yours,
Mia

This time of the year...

Usually around this time, when children go back to school, and you can just about to smell the autumn, I start to dig deeper in my fabric...
