Hear the jingle bells already?

I know I am going to annoy some people by starting to talk about the Christmas already! Some of you have just about getting used to autumn (Hugs, Viv dear!) and now I am already getting into holidays. But but but I had an idea while sweating at my gym yesterday (Hi Jane, I am taking my exercise!) of having a Christmas calendar here at my blog!

I know Christmas calendars are mostly for kids, but I have had one every single of my 30-something years and I am not giving up that habit now! And this idea of mine (and I am going to need your help with this!) is not a regular calendar, but 24(25?) different ideas, patterns and tips for Christmas crafting, decorating and maybe for some for cooking too? I would love to see your holiday ornament-crafts and learn how to make them - would you like to share some? And yes, I also remember, that many of you craft for living and I am definitely not asking you to give up those patterns you make for sale. If someone wants to do that, it's great, but what I am asking here is to share your little beloved Christmas secrets to all us to enjoy.

I am thinking of sharing some of my own patterns (needle felted Christmas tree decorations and maybe a family-heirloom cake recipe?) but I just couldn't get it done on my own. So I would like to ask if anyone was interested in sharing yours? You could either send me the picture/s and pattern or text you want to include, and I would make that days post, or you could make your own posting at your blog (if you have one) and I could link it from mine to that day. Either way, all the credit will be yours and links back to your blog (or even shop if you have one) would be made.

Anyone interested? I am early, I know, but I would love to prepare this with time and love. So if you already have a great project in mind (or just would love to create one for all of us to enjoy!), leave a comment please or e-mail me handmadebymia at gmail.com and I'll get back to you!

Happy Wednesday!

Read your back and exercise thoughts yesterday- I do Pilates- great for bad backs, not aerobic but good for the head as well as the body!

Hi Kerry!

That is wonderful - I was thinking of you and some patchwork-ideas yesterday when I was planning this post. I am so happy to have yours in!

And Pilates, wow, I have been thinking of that too, we actually have a gym quite near-by where they offer the classes but haven't go in yet. And yes, it should be great for back-problems!

Have a great Wednesday and we'll talk about that Christmas-project a bit later, no hurry, and thank you already!

Yours,
Mia

Now you know me Mia, as you said I'm not really in autumn mode yet and I don't do 'C' until December 1st but of course I'm going to join in!! Don't know what yet but I want to be a part of it, definitely!

I know you would ;) Viv, and I apologize for being this early but I thought that I may post about this a few times in some months to see how many I got in (and then I know how many postings I need to make all by myself, too). Thank you so much already!

Have a great Wednesday!

Yours,
Mia

Hi Mia,
I'm so glad to hear that you have already started some exercise, that is SO good, well done you.You will feel all the better for it and it will "uncraft" that back!

I am also proud to admit that even at my 40 something years I still have an advent calander every year and so do my 2 grown up children aged 21 and 24! You see I really am Mrs.Christmas...for me it is the most wonderful time of year and I love it. I must admit I try shut it away until after 5th November, I do so hate to see cards etc already in the shops. However I will confess I do sometimes sneak little things into my present drawer at any time of year if I see them.
Your crafting idea sound wonderful. I'm not sure I would be much use to you as I'm really not good at sewing, I don't really knit and my cooking is pretty basic! I love my jewellery making and could show some of my lovely christmas themed pieces but that is not really sharing a good crafting idea with other readers of your blog. Likewise I love to make homemade cards, tags etc but I am sure there are plenty out there who are much more skilled than I. If you think I could help let me know and I will have a longer think to see if I come up with anything?

I have just got home from work and need a nice cup of tea and 5 mins to relax!
Love Jane x

Dear Jane,

I definitely am more than happy to have your jewelry and/or cards into my/our calendar! I am not aiming this to be a competition of any sort (meaning that I/we would vote the best of anything, heavens no, I am sick of those TV-series already!) but am just looking for something pretty/interesting/funny/cute/yummy + Christmassy for 25 days of December to all of us to enjoy! So you just take your time thinking what you would like to show us, please, (and there's no need to make a pattern or anything, these are for ideas and inspiration!) and let me know, dear, I am counting you in :)

Have a happy and relaxing evening, I am just off to my gym!

Yours,
Mia

I would love to take part and will have a think and get back to you. Hope the sun has been shining for you today. Karen X

Hi Mia,

What a great idea. I'm looking in my Christmas boxes for ideas. I'll write again soon. I need to stay busy this winter and I am looking forward to seeing everyone's projects.

This time of the year...

Usually around this time, when children go back to school, and you can just about to smell the autumn, I start to dig deeper in my fabric...
