Bereted bear

I really am in a mood for new hats, scarfs and mittens. I already have knit a fabulous MarioBeret by Jatta, modeled above by my beloved bear Jaques (aka Jaska, 33years of age) wearing his not-matching green dungarees (will show those later). There's a also the most beautiful (and ever so matching) corsage by Viv.

I also got patterns in hand, shown here are a Finnish knitting magazine Novita and an another magazine called Diana (A German one?) - it's a hats and scarfs only-issue, and my favorites from it - long and chunky scarfs with matching berets. So what seems to be a problem?

Anyone else finding it hard to get anything done for you? I mean finding time and energy for knitting or crocheting for yourself? Maybe it's because I work with my hands all day (and knit a lot) it doesn't feel as happy hobby when I pick up the needles in the evening for me-knitting. It feels like I rather would read or watch a DVD - and like the knitting was for working only. I knew this might happen when I decided to start trying to make a living with my handmades, and I know there's a difference between a bag-business-knitting and happy-knitting but still...

...look at his face! I think he (read: me) needs a matching scarf - I must be off to knit! J sends his love!

See you tomorrow!

Yes, Mia, most of us who make to sell find it difficult sometimes to make for us. Which probably explains why I need a new bag - and yet I will probably end up buying one. Crazy I know. Have a lovely day Mia.

I have to agree with Pam and Vivienne Mia.
My job as a physio also involves using my hands so I need to take care with my jewellery/crafts that I don't over do things or my wrist and thumbs start to shout!I think if I started knitting they would go on strike so that is why I buy your lovely bags!
What a great bear Jaques is and how smart he looks ;0)
Happy Thursday,
Love Jane x

Oh what a lovely bear, Mia. I am sure he would love a scarf. My sons have lots of bears and they all have scarves/hats/sweaters I have knitted over the years. I love those big chunky scarves too - am knitting one for myself at the moment in a lovely flecked blue. Send our love back to J. Karen X

Love the bear :)

Hi Pam!

I also have bought bags and pouches and mittens and scarfs - but I am determined to make my scarf for this winter, or I'll get really cold ;)

Happy Wednesday!

Yours,
Mia

Hi Viv,

It was a long, long time after I started making felted bags before I got my own, it's the sad case of the shoemaker's children having no shoes ;)

J sends his love!

Mia

Hi Jane!

I know, my wrists are complaining sometimes too and I need to toss my needles for a while and sew instead. I am sure you would master knitting in a minute though!

Happy Wednesday!

Yours,
Mia

Thank you, Karen!

J is my oldest toy, and actually the only one I have kept. He also has traveled with me all over the world and has caused many smiles on airports! Even the hardest officers there crack a little smile when he shows up :)

Have a great day!

Yours,
Mia

Hi Beth,

I know, my list to-do-for-myself is about four kilometers long, and I also have patterns and yarns to use until I'm sixty. Unfortunately it seems that I'm not going to start BEFORE I actually AM sixty - but hey, I should be a busy pensioner at least ;)

J sends a kiss!

Yours,
Mia

Hello Mia and Jaska,

Jaska, you are adorable.
Mia, Hoping you will have a new scarf soon. I know we do not always think of ourselves first.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts and nalle (?) photo.

Dear anne,

Your Finnish is amazing, Jaska sends his love! And he most definitely is nalle (= a teddybear), and loved being photographed (yet a bit annoyed that this was only his first appearance and I have blogged SO long already). The scarf will hopefully appear this weekend :)

Yours,
Mia
