New-old corners

It's been long (almost) three months and a lot white paint, sweat, boxes, nails, shelves and stuff has been moved around. We re-did everything, and all the shelving and such has been handmade to fit this old (from 1940s) house and the sloping roof. I have a new working space and places for my wools and fabrics (and books!). Everything is almost finished, and I love it. There are some corners to show you above, and lot more to come when everything is on its place and the Christmas decorations are on. We'll have a grand opening on 6th of December which is our Day of Independence and a perfect time to start celebrating Christmas in full! I also have a craft to match to show to that day in our colors: white and blue. I am now back to my Christmas blog posts, it's only two more days!

Happy and crisp winter greetings from Finland (it's -23c!) - see you tomorrow again!

Hello Mia How lovely your new-old corners are looking! Such pretty storage for your crafty things! I love seeing yarn and fabrics so neatly stacked (must do a bit of tidying up in my studio!)
Compared to where you are it's not so cold here - layering up is the answer I've found - but how do you stop your face from freezing??? Keep warm and have a great week!

Thank you Helen!

Those fabrics are still SO wrinkled, I washed everything again after they've spent so long time in boxes and unfortunately the ironing-fairy was too busy :)

It's a beautiful day here, sunny yet freezing and all you can too is to cover your face with a scarf or something like that, it's very cold when it's windy too.

Happy and crafty week and stay warm!

Yours,
Mia

-23 deg, how on earth can you bear that Mia!!!
Anyhow, your studio is looking good, how lovely to have your own space. You must be delighted to be nearly there!
Now back to the weather, we have snow, it's cold and it's due to get colder with winds coming from your direction in the next few days!! Brrrrrrr!! Roll on spring!
Keep warm and have a good week. :)

It looks wonderful Mia, I especially like those two little buddies sitting together.
Hope the trip to the post office wasn't too terrible for you in those temperatures!
Keep warm,
P xx

Hi Viv,

It really shouldn't be this cold in November yet but this probably was caused by the beautiful summer we had...And that's the only reason I can cope with this :)

Have a happy and good week too, and yes, right after Christmas I'll start waiting the spring too!

Yours,
Mia

Hi Pam,

Thank you for your message! I like those little guys too, the cat (the bigger it supposed to be a cat) was done by me and the smaller (the mouse) I found a thrift-shop, and in December they'll get some Christmas-gear too, you'll see soon :)

Have a happy and warm week, and the post wasn't too bad as I knew how happy the package will make someone (I wish!)!

Yours,
Mia

Hi Mia,
Your new decorating looks so lovely and fresh, I am sure it is a relief that it is nearly done..we are still plodding on with our dining room but we were never the quickest with decorating, it gets done....eventually.
Keep warm,
Love Jane x

Thank you, Jane!

We're not the quickest either and my main problem starts with "What would you say if..." and here we go again, the little quick-do gets really, really big. But now we're done for a long long time (yet I am not too happy with the bathroom downstairs... ;) but it can wait).

Happy and warm week to you too!

Yours,
Mia

We have snow here in Sussex Mia and the boys are so excited as there is more forecast for the rest of the week. Nothing like -23 though - how do you manage?

I love your pictures - all those lovely Agatha Christies (my favourite too) and that yarn looks very tempting. Keep warm. Karen X

I'm happy to see some new corners at your house. My favorite one is the wooden mouse with a colorful cushion/pillow.
Thanks for your letters. Happy Monday to you!

This time of the year...

Usually around this time, when children go back to school, and you can just about to smell the autumn, I start to dig deeper in my fabric...
